Slipknot’s “Lost Album” Look Outside Your Window Might Finally See Release
In addition to tour news, Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor recently shared updates on the band’s long-rumored, so-called “lost album,” Look Outside Your Window. This unique album was recorded by Taylor, Sid Wilson, Jim Root, and Shawn “Clown” Crahan around the same time as Slipknot’s 2008 album, All Hope Is Gone. Despite initial attempts to merge the two projects, Look Outside Your Window has remained unreleased due to its distinctively experimental, almost ethereal vibe, which Taylor describes as unlike anything Slipknot has produced before. Only one song from these sessions, “Til We Die,” made it onto All Hope Is Gone as a bonus track.
In a recent interview, Taylor humorously shared a conversation with Crahan about the album’s delayed release. Crahan noted that Taylor’s prolific output was partly responsible, jokingly saying, “You keep putting things out which interfere with my release plans!” Taylor assured Crahan that he’s now on board for Look Outside Your Window to finally make its way to fans in 2024.
Taylor elaborated on the album’s unique sound, stating that it feels like a “long-lost” project. Unlike anything Slipknot fans have heard before, he described the album as having some of his favorite melodies and a beautiful, timeless quality. Crahan also offered insights into the album’s delayed release, emphasizing that its timing was crucial but that it would be available soon. He praised Taylor’s vocal performance on the album, promising fans a fresh and different side of Slipknot’s frontman.
Slipknot’s Upcoming Album and New Merch Spark Excitement Among Fans
Beyond Look Outside Your Window, Slipknot is also preparing a follow-up to their 2022 album The End, So Far. Crahan expressed that the band’s evolution and lineup changes have brought a renewed, spiritual energy to their music. He believes the new album will be widely appreciated by fans, and he’s particularly excited about the contributions from new drummer Eloy Casagrande.
In other Slipknot news, the band recently unveiled a new merchandise collection featuring an updated ‘S’ logo. While some fans embraced the fresh look, reactions were mixed, with others expressing a preference for the classic design.
This exciting period for Slipknot promises a blend of nostalgia and innovation, as the band gears up to deliver powerful live shows across Europe and potentially release a long-awaited project that shows a very different side of their artistry.
